Terms of Service

1Acceptance & eligibility

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and Erlend Ellingsen, based in Norway (“Gammo”, “we”, “us”), for using the Gammo mobile app, this website and related services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If they’re not for you, that’s okay — just don’t use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or older where your country requires it) to use Gammo. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

2Your account

You can play Gammo as a guest, or sign in with Apple, Google or an email one-time code to save your progress across devices. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to it safe, and keep your details (like your display name and country) honest. Please don’t run multiple accounts to game the system — for example to manipulate ratings, leaderboards or tournaments.

3Licence to use Gammo

We give you a personal licence to install and play Gammo for your own enjoyment. It’s yours to use, not to transfer, sublicense or sell, and it follows these Terms and the rules of the app store you got it from.

Gammo — the game, its rules engine, the “Gammo” name and branding, artwork, characters, sounds and code — belongs to us or our licensors. Please don’t copy, resell, reverse-engineer or build derivative works from it, except where the law expressly allows.

4Virtual currency & items

Gammo includes virtual coins and cosmetic items (boards, checkers, dice and strike effects). You can earn coins by playing, or buy coin packs; cosmetics are unlocked with coins, via the Season Pass, or as part of the Gammo Club.

From time to time we may add, change, re-price or retire coins, items or parts of the game economy. Coins and items generally aren’t refundable and don’t carry over if an account is closed or deleted — though your statutory rights as a consumer always still apply.

5Purchases & subscriptions

The Service offers optional in-app purchases, including coin packs, Remove Ads, the Season Pass — Premium, and the Gammo Club subscription.

Billing

All purchases are processed and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through your store account — we don’t receive or store your card details. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region and over time.

Gammo Club (auto-renewing subscription)

Gammo Club is an auto-renewing monthly subscription (currently $2.99/month or the local equivalent). It renews automatically and your store account is charged each period until you cancel. You manage or cancel it in your store account (App Store or Google Play subscription settings) — cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Club benefits until the end of the paid period.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies. Where you have mandatory statutory withdrawal or refund rights under EU/EEA or Norwegian consumer law, those rights are unaffected by this section. Note that once digital content (such as virtual coins) has been delivered at your request, your statutory right of withdrawal may no longer apply.

6Advertising & rewards

Gammo may offer optional rewarded features where you can watch an advertisement in exchange for in-game rewards (such as coins or a streak freeze), subject to daily limits. Watching ads is always your choice, and you can remove ads via the “Remove Ads” purchase or the Gammo Club. Any rewards are virtual items governed by §4.

7Fair play & server authority

Gammo is server-authoritative. Our server owns the dice and validates every move against the same rules engine used on your device, so results can’t be forged by a modified client. The dice are provably fair: each game’s dice are sealed with a public fingerprint before you play and the secret key is revealed at the end so anyone can verify the rolls (see how fair dice work). Game outcomes determined by the server, including dice, ratings and match results, are final.

8Acceptable use

Gammo should be fun for everyone, so a few ground rules. Please don’t:

• cheat, use bots, automation, exploits, or third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage, or manipulate ratings, leaderboards, tournaments or the economy;
• harass, threaten, bully, defraud or impersonate others, or post hate speech, sexual, violent or illegal content;
• use offensive, deceptive or infringing display names, club names or chat content;
• disrupt, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other players’ accounts;
• violate any applicable law or the app-store terms under which you obtained the app.

9Chat & user content

Gammo lets you create things like a display name, chat messages and club content (“User Content”). It stays yours — you just give us permission to host, store and display it so we can run and moderate the Service. You’re responsible for what you post, and for having the right to post it.

To keep the community safe, we use automated filtering (including profanity masking) and moderation tools, and we may review content, mute or remove it, or restrict an account when needed. You can report or block other players right in the app.

10Suspension, termination & deletion

You’re free to stop playing whenever you like, and you can delete your account and personal data right from the app (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, or where we need to protect players or follow the law. If an account is closed, the licence ends and any coins or items go with it — and, as always, your mandatory consumer rights are unaffected. A few sections meant to last (such as §3–4 and §11–13) carry on afterwards.

11Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Gammo running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, so the Service is provided “as is”. This doesn’t take away any rights that can’t be waived under the law — including the statutory consumer rights you have in the EU/EEA and Norway.

12Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost coins, items, data or progress. We never limit our responsibility for things the law won’t let us limit — such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud. And as a consumer, you keep every mandatory protection the law of your home country gives you.

13Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you also keep the mandatory protections of the law of your home country, and nothing in these Terms deprives you of them. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts; EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.

14Apple & Google app-store terms

If you got Gammo from the App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app, but it can enforce these Terms as a third-party beneficiary, and you confirm you’re not in a country under a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. prohibited-parties list. The same idea applies to Google Play, and your use should also follow the relevant store’s own terms.

15Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
